The service and entertainment were great. The cheeseburger was tasteless and dry. Overpriced meals, burger doesn't even come with fries.

Burger OK, minus the use of Iceberg lettuce. Fries, meh, Onion rings, very good. I am not a big "Massive" burger fan. All in all a good service experience, but nothing on the menu that would drive me there.

Dirty inside. For an all American Diner, the staff did not understand English very well. We asked for a chicken sandwich with cheese, and the way they rang it up, it was much more expensive. I had to argue the point.

I have used yelp for a while now, but this place made me join just to write a review. Prices are crazy for a burger joint. burger looked good but was tasteless, chile cheese fries looked good but were tasteless. Go to five guys, or another burger joint, get much better food and save yourself some cash. Will not return, like another person said, there are plenty of full restaurants at broadway that are packed with people and good food. The only reason to go would be that it is an old fashion style place that does some fun stuff other than food.

  • Danny S.

Food was very overpriced! The food tasted no better than fast food.

Phenomenal service by a gentleman named Andrei P. The food was good but not great. However the prices are hilariously high for what you get and I don't plan on returning only because of that. Came out to 50$ for 2 hamburgers 2 milkshakes, a French fry (not included with the burgers) and chicken fingers.

I was very pleased with my visit here, I got the double smoke house burger and it was awsome, the burger had just the right amount of season on it and cooked the way I wanted it. My wife got the tuna fish sandwich and she loved it and wouldn't stop talking about it all day lol, my son got the chili dog, it was big and he couldn't stop eating it because he loved it and we had to order him another. The waitress was very busy helping other tables but made sure we were taking care of, she had a lot of energy and a great attitude. It was a beautiful day out side so we eat on the deck and fed the ducks and fish with the little bit of crumbs we had left lol. I definitely recommend this place to visitors at MB :)

We stopped in here a few month back on our weekend vacation to Myrtle Beach. First time inside the franchise known as Johnny Rockets. We spent a few hours at Boardwalk on the Beach and after long debates, decided to give them a chance. Very old school diner feel inside the restaurant which I thought was pretty cool. Plenty of burger options on the menu. Service was good and our waitress was cool. The burger itself was pretty average. Nothing above and beyond or completely out of this world but then again not bad at all. Call me sheep but the burgers did seem a bit overpriced. Maybe others enjoy the whole dancing around and singing but I felt a bit awkward when the employees had to dance near our table. It's hard to enjoy a meal or even take a bite of your food when the music starts blaring and the employees get into this funk. I'm sure it keeps the morale up from a business stand point for the employees but as a customer, I was the biggest fan. Cool place. Decent food. Weird dancing. I'd go back again I guess.

The good: Nice to go back in time sorta with theme burger shakes and music/dancing. The dressed in character dancing servers are a blast first time through. The bad: Slightly expensive for what it is food quality wise. Five Guys blow the taste away for example. Although shakes are good. No where close to say a Marble Slab.

Very overpriced- my parents live in MB so we are frequent visitors. We were at Broadway at the Beach on Saturday and while strolling became hungry. Popped in here - my dad got a chocolate shake ($6, crappy size, was just OK)- I had a bacon cheseburger (was actually really good, but the size was VERY small, and was over $7)- my mom had a grilled cheese with tomato that was just OK (was over $7 as well). Kids split chicken fingers kids meal. However, we were shocked that none of the meals (besides kids meal) came with french fries!! Over $10 for a burger and a basic drink with no fries? REALLY? Bill came to $42 and an absolute ripoff as we left just as hungry as when we came!

  • Chris C.

2 kids and 4 adults. I got a burger, it was only okay. Burger really wasn't seasoned at all. Everyone else seemed pretty happy with their food. Singing and dancing was hilarious and our server, Mihai, was outstanding.

  • Paul R.

Yummy as usual and had goo service. Only had a strawberry banana milk shake. It was good. Sat outside near the water at 930pm and had a perfect view of the fireworks show at 10pm. Enjoyed our visit.

  • David B.

Not so good. I got the smokehouse burger and it wasn't anything special. No flavor and the onion rings gave me some horrible indigestion, almost to the point of vomiting. Over cooked meat left it very dry and was very sloppy when put together. Over priced for a not so good hamburger and frozen fries.

Awful food. Bun was extremely hard. Places speaker system was awful and servers cannot talk English. Never again.

Worse experience I've ever had at Johnny Rocket's. Spent $30 for two meals and a kids meal and left hungry. I ordered a BLT on sourdough bread. Came out with two pieces of bacon on the sandwich and regular toast. My fiancé for a burger which was tough as a rock. My son got the cheese burgers which were on potatoes rolls. I ordered a milk shake and they came out with a kids strawberry milkshake when I wanted a strawberry chocolate kiss. THEN after all this, my fiancé asked the hostess for a to go cup and she said it wasn't her job. She couldn't even understand anything that anyone was saying. She got 2 inches close to people's face to try to understand, but that didn't even work. NEVER AGAIN WILL I COME HERE! DO NOT GO HERE!

    (1)
  • Gregory W.

What can I say? Very average burger for $9. Fries undercooked. Better fare can be found elsewhere easy. Bun was even your run of the mill grocery store aisle bun. I've been here a few times and it seems to be getting worse. Too bad.

  • Don W.

This is a good place to go at Broadway on the Beach because its quick, easy. Make no mistake you are getting greasy burgers and fries here. Its not cheap for that either. We dropped $70 for 2 adults and 2 kids. Drinks are $3 and they way they make money on the burgers is that they come with nothing else. Want fries or onion rings - add $4 to each meal. They humiliate the staff by making them dance and sing. Not really a plus or a minus just a little uncomfortable if you were ever a server or are empathetic.

This place is more about the show then the food, kinda like Hooters. We decided to stop in here on our vacation because we had gotten several recommendations to try it. First off the burgers weren't completely bad but for the price definitely not worth it. All of their main entrées do not include a side, so fries are an extra purchase. A dinner for two you're looking at about $30, This is fries burger and drink. once every about 30 minutes they crank the music and all the employees dance around and give a show, however one employee likes to climb on top of a table and dance. Now I'm not against The show it's kind of a fun show to watch, however they don't bother to wash the table off once he gets down.. While we were there we noticed him dancing on the table and about 10 minutes later they seated a couple at that table, when the next round of dancing came along he just went to the next table over. For the entire meal we couldn't help but think if we were eating where his feet was without it being cleaned. This place is way overpriced and not worth your time

This was my first visit to a Johnny Rockets. I was really looking forward to it, but it was not the fun dining experience I was hoping for. I ordered a cheeseburger, french fries, and chocolate shake. The burger and fries were OK, but nothing spectacular. The milkshake was really good, and enough for two people to share. When the waitress took our order, I asked her about the staff singing and dancing. There were not a lot of people in the restaurant so I don't think the staff was planning on performing a "number" but I think they did anyway since I asked about it and said it was my first time there. The staff did NOT look like they were having a great time singing and dancing AT ALL when they did the first song. They were just sort of going through the motions. So that was not fun to watch. It was just sad. They looked like they were being forced at gunpoint to perform. The second song was better because this male waiter got involved and he WAS really into it. He looked like he was having fun and his energy carried over to the other wait staff and they looked a little happier doing their little song and dance. Still, I was imaging a "Glee-like" performance and it was not that at all. Based on this experience, I have no interest in going to another Johnny Rockets.

Came here after visiting the Wonderworks and we were seated quickly and the waitstaff was very friendly. The hamburgers are really big and the fries are tasty. We likes the shakes, we had chocolate, banana, and vanilla but they seem a little small for the price. Also the day we went I ordered the chicken strips but they must have been old because they tasted awful, I had a couple people try them and they couldn't stand it so they were sent back. So stick to the burgers, fries, and shakes when coming here.

What a great experience! Boris was our waiter and was very attentive and friendly. The burgers were hot and juicy, while the fries and onion rings were crispy and hot. The s'mores and dark chocolate milkshakes were delicious. Surprised by the negative reviews when I looked - nothin but good comments from me.

I guess I visited Myrtle Beach in an off time. This experience at Johnny Rockets (as well as all but one other restaurant) was terrible. Usually Johnny Rockets is my go to place on our cruises (Royal Caribbean) or whenever there is one available (eg. Nassau) as one can't mess up the burgers too much...well, I was wrong! I had a terrible burger and the fries were not good either. Entertainment was as experienced elsewhere (with the exception of someone disconnecting the nano that was playing the music). So Sad. I guess I'll stick with visiting these places on the cruises as they seem to really put out quality food on the ships.

We were seated immediately, service was friendly, and the food was quick. The kids enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Definitely a good place for a burger with kids.

Wenr on Fathers Day and had great service and food. We had cheesr fries and burgers. Our waitress was prompt , polite, and funny. They do dance and sing which might not be your cup of tea but we enjoyed it. Lastly, the shakes are delicious! It is a nice sit down from walking all day!

This place was at best average, that is until we got the bill. I've never been to a Johnny Rocket's before, and the most important thing I got out of it was they definitely feel good about themselves. They serve $8 burgers, $6 milkshakes and nearly $3 drinks. And you want fries? yeah, those are extra too. Who the heck makes you pay $8 for a burger AND extra for fries? I should have known something was up when their kids' meals are $7 bucks! What a rip off. We should have left after looking at the menu. It's basically a '50s era Hardees. So you are paying an extra $5 to eat your Hardees food in an old diner looking place. I got the chicken club sandwich, which was below average. And then there was the REALLY awkward part when someone cranked up an "oldie" the servers and cooks danced to it. Song of choice, BeeGees "Stayin' Alive." Wrong era, idiots. You actually missed the theme of the restaurant by not one, but two decades. Bill for a few burgers, chicken club, 2 kids meals: $71! Yep, the most expensive meal we ate on our vacation to NMB was at this joke of a restaurant. On the bright side, it's at Barefoot Landing, which was a pretty decent outdoor outlet mall place. Go to the Flying Fish restaurant and market across the parking lot. Heard it got good reviews, and hopefully, they don't hire thugs to make your food.

We enjoyed the entertainment while we ate. Great hamburgers, chili fries and love the old fashion milkshakes.

  • Kim P.

We love this place! We were seated immediately, our waiter was very pleasant, the kids ordered food and I just had a drink. The food came out quickly, even with the waiter taking breaks to dance. I am bummed that they no longer give you nickels for the jukebox, but I have noticed that everywhere, not just this location. Food was good, shakes were great, no complaints!

    (4)
  • Andrea P.

Absolutely love this place!! Best milkshakes ever. I've been a fan of this place since I was a kid, and first tried it when I was on a vacation with my parents and family...I have now passed the tradition on and have begun taking my own family and daughter to Johnny Rockets. We've only eaten food there a few times since I was a child. I think the price for what you get is a bit much, considering you have to order your fries separately. The entertainment factor is great! Certain songs, the staff dance to. They no longer bring nickels to the table so you can pick songs on the jukebox, but all in all, we still had a good time and I look forward to returning for another milkshake in the future. Maybe one day, they'll put a Johnny Rockets closer to my home, rather than an over 4 hour drive away!

    (4)
  • Rich O.

Pricey? Maybe a bit. But if you're in Myrtle Beach, you're not there to save money - you're there to shop or be entertained! Johnny Rockets fulfills the entertainment part, that's for sure. The food, though pricey, was very good, but the table-side entertainment made the visit worth our while!! You never knew what was coming next!! We'll definitely be back to visit on our next trip!

  • Elena T.

Old fashioned burger joint with milkshakes to die for and free live entertainment. As soon as you enter the parlor you're greeted cheerfully (a la "welcome to Moe's!"). The oldies music is groovin' and you're already giddy inside. You can't go wrong with the burgers or the hot dogs. There is a lot of varieties to choose from. I had the swiss cheese onions and mushrooms burger and it was delicious. Lana had the hot-dog kids meal (fries and lemonade) and we both fought over a chocolate milk shake (I won...it was so filling her little tummy gave up). All this for $17. TIP! Moms, if you want fries (or any other side) just get it with the kids meal. The portions are huge...plenty to share among 2 or even 3. Each table has a jukebox with hundreds of songs to select for 25 cents a piece. Every now and then the staf puts on the "Nah, nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah, nah nah...tune and will dance and sing for you. Everybody cheers on, kids get down with it, the tips get bigger, and you give in and order another shake...heh what the heck, we only have 1 life to live. youtube.com/v/Aln4s7_44DY Don't worry, be happy at Johnny's! It's good for you and your wallet.

Atmosphere was great, food was ok, but very pricey for burgers an fries. Milkshakes were really good, though!

  • Kim T.

I would never want to go here again. The food was entirely over priced. I ended up paying almost 10 dollars after tip for a mediocre burger, no fries and a glass of water. The place was a pretty standard diner, nothing too special aside from the 50s feel. I don't really see the appeal in this place honestly. When certain songs play the workers dance to it which would have been fun except they looked miserable doing it. Maybe it was because we came during a slightly off season (we went during Spring Break in March) but this place was nothing special and not worth returning to.

    (1)
  • Laurel D.

I liked the atmosphere--the bright red booths, individual juke boxes, and decorations really amped up that 50s feel. That was the only thing I liked about it. Our jukebox didn't work, no one got fast refills, our waitress wasn't very friendly, and when they had to dance to the music, they looked miserable. (To be entirely fair, I wouldn't look happy while dancing in front of customers either, but I'd try to have fun with it so that my tips would increase.) The price was ridiculous. The burger, which had no flavor, was about $8 and didn't come with fries, applesauce, or a salad. The soda was flat. We were all pretty disappointed at the end of the meal which, I guess, is what we get for going to a mostly-empty diner at a place filled with lots of other interesting, crowded restaurants. We should've known something was off when it was almost empty right at dinner time.

    (2)
  • Danielle D.

Food was tasteless and expensive!! We had 2 burgers fries 2 shakes and a kids meal and we paid over $40. The server who was Russian and "forgot" to inform us that we had to pay extra for fries! We will never go back not worth the money! Would rather pay for good food and excellant service. Go to Red Robin down by the mall!

Johnny Rockets is a great place to get burgers, fries, and shakes. There is just something nostalgic about this place. Kinda like taking a step back in time to the 50s. I like this place.

  • Amanda A.

Absolutely love this place. This is a "must do" every time I come to Myrtle Beach. The food is great, staff are friendly, music is entertaining... I have no complaints.. Okay, maybe 1. This is a bit expensive for what it is. The burgers are reasonable, but then you find out how much it is to have a side of fries and a shake. I put that aside, though. And visit Jonny Rocket's at least twice every time I come to Myrtle Beach. Anyone I've brought loves it, and I always go home with happy memories. By the way - I've been to many Johnny Rocket's locations. We even got some in Toronto lately. The Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing locations are by far, the BEST Johnny Rocket's you could ever visit. The servers and cooks make all the difference.

My family and I ate at Johnny Rocket (Broadway at Myrtle Beach) while visiting South Carolina and I have to say it was not a disappointment. We had a great waitress Michelle J. She checked on our every need, made sure our drinks we filled and that we had anything we asked for., Our burgers were delicious mouth watering and juicy., we had the cheese fries and the chili cheese fried, Also mouth watering., kids were so excited, they asked of we have a Johnny rockets back home.. Best burgers n fried we every had!!

Fun restaurant for the family with good food. There are a lot of exchange students that work there and the are VERY friendly and VERY service oriented. Was a pleasure to eat there. The workers even got up and danced to a song. The food was very tasty and the shakes were great. If you have a coupon, you even get a free shirt for spending $20. highly recommended place.

  • Jeff F.

My son enjoyed his experience here and said this is one of his favorite places now. The cheeseburger was good and I'll eat here again, but other than the entertainment, there's nothing special about the food and it's priced a little much, but not too expensive.
